9 Weeks Old!

All is well in the Clay household, and we haven't forgotten how to blog, even though it may seem that way. Addie Grace will be 9 weeks old tomorrow and she has come a long way. I think the biggest news is how big she has gotten. In a few short weeks she has gone from the 5th percentile in weight and height to the 75th percentile! She definitely appreciates eating! It's funny how before I could never really tell who she looked more like, but now that she is getting chubby cheeks and a big ole belly, people say she is looking more like me. What a compliment to me, ha. A typical conversation on Addie's looks goes like this...

Person #1 - "Wow, look at those chubby cheeks, she's getting so chubby and fattening out... Yep, she's starting to look like her Daddy."

Me - "Great, thanks. What are you saying about her Daddy?"

When Lacy was with the doctor she asked her when she could start to cut out the 4 am feeding, and she replied, "Lacy, have you seen your child's cheeks? She's ready whenever you are."

Kidding aside, she is getting to be a big girl and she is just as beautiful as the first time I saw her. Holy cow I love her.

Lacy took Addie to the doctor for her check up and 1st round of shots. Poor little Addie had no idea what was coming, but she was a champ. Lacy said she only cried for a minute or two.... that's my girl. Other than the shots, it was a good trip to the pediatrician, Addie is a happy and healthy little girl, and we are very thankful for that.

Before Shot...

And after shot. I know, breaks your heart too.

Addie had her newborn pictures made a few weeks ago, and she did so good. Thank you Rikki! http://www.rikkicassellphotography.com/

It's the running joke in the house that Addie is a princess all day until Daddy gets home. It seems like everytime I come home from work she turns into a fussy baby. She is already giving me a hard time, especially when I am babysitting. We had an interesting night earlier this week when Addie decided to have the ultimate diaper blowout as soon as Lacy walked out the door. It was actually funny, and she timed it perfectly.

Really, the evening is the only time of day when she occasionally gets fussy. It just so happens to be when I come home from work. It has gotten better over the weeks, and Lacy has her on a really good schedule that works for Addie and keeps her happy, and obviously well fed.

This is what I cam home to the other day, what a lucky guy I am.

Lacy was getting ready to go out to eat and they were dressed up and had their matching pink on. This was shortly before Addie tried to ruin her dress by having the blowout.

Even Momma can get a smile every now and then.

Addie has ventured out of the house a few times the past month. She goes on walks, she's been out to dinner a couple times, and she even made her first appearance at church.

She is sleeping right now, but I have been up with her this morning letting Lacy sleep in. I was able to get a few snapshots of her smiling while we were hanging out. These are the mornings I will never forget.

It was a mohawk kind of morning.

As I said before, all is well in the Clay household.
