Well I honestly thought my next blog post would be announcing the birth of our daughter. WRONG! I just knew she would be here by now, but honestly, there are no real signs of her coming anytime soon. Lacy will have contractions here and there but they are never consistent and they usually go away when she lies down. Although Lacy’s last day of work was last Friday, she has still been pretty active. It is difficult for her to sleep and her lower back gives her problems, but other than that she is still doing ok and being a champ. We dodged a nasty bullet not long ago when I came down with the flu for the first time in my life. I was scared to death that Addie would decide that would be the time for her to make her grand appearance and I hurt so bad I couldn’t even roll over in bed without aching. Lacy packed up and stayed with her parents while I spent a few days quarantined. The flu is awful and luckily Lacy never got sick. Answered prayers for sure!
The web says Addie should weigh around 6.8 pounds and measure over 19 1/2 inches long but I highly doubt that is accurate for her. Lacy went to the doctor on February 24th and they had to do an ultrasound to make sure that Addie was still growing because Lacy’s measurements had not increased any from the previous appointment. They were happy with what they saw but Addie is little and only weighed 5 lbs 2 oz (21st percentile). She is just well hidden and very low.
I was healthy enough to be able to go with Lacy to her last doctor’s appointment this past Friday. They did not do an ultrasound because they said they needed a full 2 weeks to see if she had grown any and it had only been 1 week. They did “check” Lacy and she was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I’m not sure what all that means but it seemed to be a good sign that the birth process has started. Addie’s head is definitely down and we will continue to w a i t. She is still very active, considered full term now, and her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. I guess I need to put together the dresser sometime soon.
I think you need to update the blog because ADDILYN GRACE CLAY is here and is beautiful!! She is so blessed to have so many people in her life that love her so much!!!
